One Day Left!

There is only one day left to vote! So if you haven't voted, please do so! And remember, you can vote for multiple selections! So feel free to go crazy!

Perhaps when the voting ends I will explain what this poll was all about too...maybe...

:)

Tired, But Happy

It's really early, but I feel like posting something. So here I am!

The Bamboo Pen & Touch is working really well. I've completed a couple of drawing makeovers: pencil pieces that I've inked and colored in Photoshop. I think I may dig into the past, find a drawing I really like, and see if I can bring it to colorful justice. I have a couple of projects for myself.

Because I have a lot of control with a pencil, I'm going to continue to draw outlines on paper first. There's just something utterly satisfying about possessing the physical hard-copy.

I'm really tired. I can't even think these sentences as I'm writing them. Time for bed!

Attempt #2: Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch

To keep the story short and sweet, there ended up being a couple of issues with the Bamboo Pen. To avoid future messes, we called it an early birthday present to me, and we exchanged up upgraded to the Bamboo Pen & Touch. I am much more satisfied, and really happy. (I had a major Christmas meltdown last night over the problems. Wasn't a good time.)

But now it's all sorted out, and I can get back to enjoying my Christmas/Birthday toy!

Wacom Bamboo Pen

I am writing this post by hand with help from my favorite gift of the evening: a Wacom Bamboo Pen tablet. I have been waiting for this for months, and I finally get to play with digital art! I won't write all of my posts by hand in the future because it is cumbersome. But for tonight, I have a new toy, and I want to play with it!

I want to extend good wishes to all of my readers. No matter which traditions you keep, and regardless of the holidays you celebrate, I wish you the best in health, luck, and fortune!

Merry Christmas!

Where's that Movie Review?

It has been too long for me to give the review of "Avatar" that it deserves. My solution has been that I'll have to see it again and get back to you on the review. Sound like a plan?! Okay, good!

I updated the list to week 4's topic: my favorite webcomics. Take a gander, enjoy! They are in order from #1 favorite at the top to #5 at the bottom. If you find yourself with a lot of free time, I would suggest trying any of them out for size. Each one is unique in story content and type of humor.

That is all. Good evening!

Avatar = Amazing

All I can manage to say right now is "Avatar" is amazing beyond all belief. Easily vying for top spot on my favorite movies list. Go see it.

I will respond with more detail later.

I've Got a Couple of Minutes...

I may as well post something!

I don't know if anyone else besides me notices (or cares), but every once in a while, I do change the slogan right beneath the blog title. They are always weird little lines. But, then again, I am weird. Of course, you probably have gleaned that by now...

Moving on, I just spent a wonderful evening watching webcomic artist Lar deSouza give a wonderful Ustream, answering multitudes are art related questions. A good time was had by all! And, if you are interested in anything that has to do with webcomics, I highly suggest you check this guy out. He does the artwork for "Least I Could Do" and "Looking for Group", both written by Ryan Sohmer. While I haven't been all the way through "Least I Could Do", I can highly recommend "Looking for Group" for anyone who likes WoW type games/fantasy/magic and pure awesome.

That's about all I have for now. Until a future time!

More Changes

I have updated the poll. I'll let you devise your own theories about this one, but instead of polling for January list topics, I'm sending a different little brain-teaser at you. Just like last time, you can select multiple answers, but you must select them all in one casting. You can change your vote later if you want to. This poll with end by January 1st. Have fun!

I have decided that January will have four lists as well, and I'm using the runner up list from the last poll (favorite calendar themes) to bring in the new year. The poll starting New Year's Day will once again explore list topics. If the voting goes as well as this last poll, we'll have all the remaining lists decided in one poll and the rest of the month can be used for fun polls! There's your incentive to vote, people!

Also, I have done some techo-magic, and I can now text updates from my handy-dandy cell phone. That means I can bug you at any time from anywhere. Aren't you lucky!

I leave you with that. Until a future time!

Okiday!

I have update the list for week three! This week's theme: My Favorite Christmas Gifts Through 2008. They are in order of most liked of the most (top) to less liked than the ones at the top of the list but still worthy of being among the favorites (bottom). I would say the list is comprised of separate eras, but most are either from the past couple of years or from around when I was 10. So, there you have it and enjoy!

There are still a couple of hours before the poll closes, and currently "Favorite Webcomics" is winning. If you haven't looked lately, the percentage for this category is 60% out of 160%. Isn't the math in this poll awesome?! The answer is no.

Furthermore, when that poll closes, I will update the new poll for some January list ideas. I think I may continue the weekly topic idea (since there are two categories with outstanding votes in the current poll, I may make the runner-up the theme for week 1 of January). We will see how that goes.

That's about all I have for you today. Enjoy the list, and hopefully more interesting poop will arrive tomorrow!

Japanese Music!

I just discovered internet radio via iTunes. Guess who has a new favorite music source, now?! (Meeee!)

Anywho, I am listening to Japanese music, and it is fantastic. After spending a lot of my time watching the actual Yu-Gi-Oh show, it only makes sense that I listen to Japanese music right? (Um...no, your logic is very unsound...)

Oh dear, I am fighting with my subconscious self again. Tsk, tsk.

Well, I suppose, people of the blog, that I have run out of things to say yet again. Haha. I drew an octopus.

Later!

I'm Bored

Title just about sums it up. I've done everything I could conceivably want to do. Anyone else have any good ideas?

Hello, Soapbox!

I love Pandora.

It just lets me zone out to music that suits the exact mood I'm in. And, if I'm in not particular mood, it has the ability to throw a little bit of everything together. I could sit with my iTunes library and try to make a billion playlists that do the same thing, but with Pandora I can explore new songs too. So, why would I take the extra effort to get bored with the same songs?

Simply put, I don't.

I'm done with my soapbox for now. Currently I'm listening to a Trans-Siberian Orchestra (Holiday) station, and I am getting a nice little bit of Christmas tunes without being bombarded over the head with them. It's pleasant.

Okay, now I'm done with the soapbox.

My glass of ice water is down to its last cube. I'm debating whether it's worth getting more ice, since the glass is still half full with water. The fact that I'm even pondering this predicament with as much seriousness as I am proves that I should be making better use of my time. For example, I should be playing video games.

Time to play!

Wow!

December Week 2's list is up, featuring my favorite figurines (the top being my top favorite, etc.). Beast Wars figurines claim a whopping majority with 3/5 figurines, and they probably would have had more except that I forgot the names of some of the ones I own. In any case, in just one more week, the voting for week 4's list ends. So, if you haven't voted yet: vote, vote, vote!

The past couple of days I have found time flying away from me faster than I can get back and say, "Woah! Where has the time gone?!" Fortunately, I have something to say now.

My sister bought me some crocheting supplies last Saturday, and I currently have about ten inches of a gray scarf! I am pretty excited about this. It's almost as cool as me maybe finishing this cross stitch I've had floating around for a couple of years...I may finish that...someday...maybe...

Anyway, not much else to report other than that. Until another time!

My Apologies!

Sorry about the lack of updates for a couple of days. Time decided to slip right through my fingers! Between making Christmas wishlists and shopping with a good friend for Christmas gifts, I haven't had much down time the past few days for an update. But, I'm making it up to you by posting now.

Of course, I don't really have much to say. >_>

I guess that is unfortunate for you! I'll update again if I find something more of value. Ta!

A Note about Voting in the Poll

Sorry for multiple updates here, folks. I just wanted to point out that yes, you can vote for more than one option in the poll. But you vote for them all in one casting. So that means you check off as many options as you fancy, and then you cast your vote, thus voting for 1 or up to 5 options (though I hope none of you choose the latter). You can also change your vote to include more options or less, or a different option as you see fit.

I hope I made it clearer and not more confusing!

Also, for you math people out there, enjoy the highly incorrect percentages on the current results! :)

New Goal?

I'm working on filling up a book of staff paper I've had floating around forever. I'm writing out every little music related blip in my head in order to use up the space. Why? Because I want a new book of staff paper.

Here's my reason: the book I have has 10 stave pages. This means, unless you only score for a single part, a duet, a quintet or a ten part ensemble, you're going to have unused lines at the bottom of your page. While it may not annoy you, it does annoy me. I'm looking at purchasing a book with 12 stave pages. I am not a big math person, but even I know that 12 is divisible by more numbers than 1o.

What I have liked about this book is that the paper is nice and sturdy. And, for all you environmentalists out there, it's made out of recycled paper and the lines are printed with soy ink. I didn't purchase it for this reason seven years ago (or whenever I bought it), but I do like how well it is made.

In any case, I'm trying to fill up this book as fast as I can. I have the ideas to fill it with, ones that I just haven't written down yet. I guess it's about time they find their way to paper anyway. And since both of my Finale programs are more or less nonfunctional, I may as well have fun doing it the old fashioned way.

Enough about all this. I'll save you all from any more ramblings. Until another day!

Happy December 1st!

It is December. NaNoWriMo 2009 is over, and a sigh of relief falls over the world just before the chaos of Christmas shopping and the like. In my little corner of the world, things are going splendidly, however, and there are lots of things I'm looking forward to doing in December.

There are a couple of contests over at deviantart that I am aiming to participate in. I spent a couple of hours really early this morning planning one of the pieces out. All that is left now is to see how things turn out!

I have updated the blog to be more current to the times: week 1's list is up, and they are in order of most to less most (top to bottom). I have also updated the thought box and the poll. And, in addition to the new poll, which will end after two weeks, I have allowed people to vote multiple times. So, hopefully, that will help with dead-ties in the future.

That's about all I have for now. Until a future time!
